Microsharp / Carbon Trust funded project for low cost solar concentrators.

Microsharp is leading a Carbon Trust funded research and development project to develop ultra low cost solar concentrator technology.

By using lightweight film Fresnel lens structures rather than parabolic mirrors or cast lenses, concentrators can be made lighter and cheaper. This will open up the possibility of developing systems that will be economically viable in much smaller unit sizes.
